It’s time to look back at what the 2019/2020 season meant for Eagles Football Academy. The club ended the campaign with flying colours, in terms of football results. It’s no secret that all the football clubs in the world had to deal with an enforced break, caused by the pandemic outbreak. However, Eagles Football Academy continued it’s growth and managed to establish itself as a strong youth development unit in London. Our story from last season is full of special events and guests…

Eagles Football Academy started the 2019/2020 season with 9 coaches in the staffing team. The club started the season with 128 players, but by the end of December there were 135 players in the Eagles ranks, many of them of great talent. The Academy started the training sessions on the 4th of September, both in the East and Northern locations. All the Eagles youth teams competed in the Echo League and Harrow League, alongside other respectable English clubs. The official presentation for the new season took place on the 28th of September and had very special guests at the ground.

Mrs. Natalia-Elena Intotero, leader of the Ministry for Romanians Abroad, joined the festivities alongside the minister for Youth and Sport in Romania, Mr. Bogdan Matei. Also, the local Harrow council was represented by Mr. Graham Henson. We couldn’t have wished for a better dialogue and a warmer atmosphere! There were interviews conducted by the local journalists and the guests spoke about their plans for the future of youth football in the region. Eagles Football Academy is carefully monitored in London and abroad and the full support it receives gives the club hope for a bright future.

At the official presentation, Eagles also introduced the new playing equipment, provided by Luanvi. The club made a big leap in regards to branding and appearance, joining its force with the big Spanish sportswear manufacturer. The new kit surely put wind beneath the players wings! The season started with great results for all age groups, and the U16 and U17 teams excelled in the Harrow Youth League. Also, the U12, U14 and U16 groups finished the first half of the season on the podium, gaining a lot of attention in the league. Between winter and spring, the U11, U12, U15 and U16 teams joined the London Premier Youth League, where all our groups will be playing starting next season! What a journey it has been…from the lower ranks in the UK, to the prospect of playing Crystal Palace and Barnet every other week!

Tibor Selymes visited the Academy for the Christmas party

Therefore, the Christmas holiday (22 December – 5 January) brought a well-deserved festivity for our staff and children. The Christmas party at the Academy had another special guest: former Romanian defender Tibor Selymes joined Santa Claus (himself, mind you), to present gifts to the little champs at Eagles Football Academy. The children were also awarded spectacular trophies for their results, dedication and hard work.

Everybody came back to the training ground with big hopes for silverware at the end of the campaign, and by March the staffing team had already been reorganized and each coach had his own group to look after. Then the forced break stopped the activity at the ground, but training continued for each player, separately, at home. The coaches monitored the activity of their players from distance, proving once again that a professional club will always find solutions, regardless of the circumstances.

On behalf of Eagles Football Academy and Gabi Dumitru, a big “THANK YOU” is sent out to everybody involved, for a fantastic season, with many special moments on the pitch and outside of it. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is here, and Eagles Football Academy is ready for a new challenge, in the 2020/2021 season.

E timpul să vedem ce a însemnat sezonul 2019/2020 pentru Eagles Football Academy. Clubul a încheiat sezonul cu rezultate excepționale! Nu este un secret faptul că toate cluburile de fotbal din lume au fost nevotie să intre într-o pauză forțată, cauzată de izbucnirea pandemiei. Dar Eagles Football Academy și-a continuat dezvoltarea și s-a impus ca un club puternic din Londra, în ceea ce privește fotbalul juvenil. Povestea sezonului trecut e plină de evenimente memorabile, la care au participat și invitați speciali…

Academia a început sezonul 2019/2020 cu 9 antrenori în staff și 128 de jucători. Dar, la finalul lunii decembrie, pentru Eagles jucau 135 de tineri fotbaliști, majoritatea de mare talent! Academia și-a început antrenamentele pe 4 septembrie, în ambele locații, din Estul și din Nordul Londrei. Toate grupele de copii au participat în Echo League și Harrow League, unde au jucat împotriva unor cluburi respectabile. Prezentarea oficială a noului sezon a avut loc pe 28 septembrie, iar la stadion au fost prezenți câțiva invitați speciali.

Natalia-Elena-Intotero, ministrul pentru Românii de Pretutindeni s-a alăturat festivității, împreună cu ministrul Tineretului și Sportului din România, Bogdan Matei. Totodată, la festivitate a participat și Graham Henson, din partea consiliului local din Harrow. Nu ne puteam dori un dialog mai constructiv și o atmosferă mai plăcută! Jurnaliștii locali au efectuat interviuri cu invitații Academiei, care au vorbit despre planurile lor de viitor pentru fotbalul juvenil din regiune. Eagles Football Academy este monitorizată cu atenție în Londra, dar și în străinătate, iar sprijinul pe care-l primește oferă speranțe pentru un viitor spectaculos.

La prezentarea oficială, Eagles și-a prezentat și noul echipament, furnizat de firma Luanvi. Academia a făcut un pas important în ceea ce privește latura de branding, reunindu-și forțele cu celebrul producător spaniol. Se pare că noul echipament a suflat vânt în aripile “vulturilor”! Sezonul a început excepțional pentru toate grupele de vârstă, iar echipele U16 și U17 au excelat în cadrul Harrow Youth League. Totodată, echipele U12, U14 și U16 au terminat prima parte a sezonului pe podium, captând astfel atenția ligii. Între iarnă și primăvară, echipele U11, U12, U15 și U16 au făcut pasul spre London Premier Youth League, unde toate grupele Academiei vor juca în sezonul viitor! Ce călătorie a fost…de la ligile inferioare din Anglia, până la posibilitatea de a juca împotriva unor cluburi precum Crystal Palace sau Barnet, în fiecare săptămână.

Tibor Selymeș a vizitat Academia, la petrecerea de Crăciun

Astfel, vacanța de Crăciun (22 decembrie – 5 ianuarie) a adus o bine-meritată festivitate pentru antrenorii și jucătorii Academiei. Petrecerea organizată la Academie de Crăciun a avut un alt invitat special: fostul fundaș român Tibor Selymeș s-a alăturat lui Moș Crăciun (chiar el!), pentru a le oferi cadouri micilor campioni de la Eagles Football Academy. Copiii au primit și trofee spectaculoase pentru rezultatele lor, dar și pentru dedicarea și munca de la antrenamente.
Toată lumea s-a întors la antrenamente cu speranțe mari pentru un trofeu la finalul sezonului, iar până în luna martie antrenorii fuseseră deja reorganizați: fiecare dintre ei avea în subordine o grupă de juniori. Apoi a venit pauza forțată, care a oprit activitatea la stadion. Antrenamentele au continuat pentru fiecare jucător, separat, la domiciliu. Antrenorii au monitorizat activitatea jucătorilor de la distanță, dovedind încă o dată că un club profesionist va găsi întotdeauna soluții, indiferent de circumstanțe.

În numele Eagles Football Academy și a lui Gabriel Dumitru, un sincer și călduros “MULȚUMESC” este adresat tuturor celor implicați la club, pentru un sezon fantastic, plin de momente speciale pe teren, dar și în afara lui. Ziua de ieri a trecut, ziua de mâine este deja aici. Astfel, Eagles Football Academy este gata pentru o nouă provocare, în sezonul 2020/2021.
