On Saturday, July 12, the founder and general manager of Eagles Football Academy, Gabi Dumitru, took a powerful step back in time as he reunited with his childhood teammates from Aripi Pitești Football School, one of Romania’s most iconic football academies during the 1970s and 1980s.

Held in Pitești, the reunion featured a special exhibition match between the veterans – many of whom went on to successful careers in Romania’s top league and abroad. The match was refereed by none other than Coach Mihai Georgescu, the man behind generations of successful players and a symbol of passion and dedication in Romanian football.

“These were the players I grew up with, the teammates who shaped my early understanding of discipline, teamwork, and ambition,” said Gabi Dumitru.
“Everything we do at Eagles carries the values I learned here. The journey from Aripi to Eagles is a personal legacy I am proud to pass on.”

The reunion served as a reminder of the foundation Eagles Football Academy is built upon: character, resilience, and the power of football to shape lives.

From the fields of Pitești to the pitches of London, the story continues.
